FolkTale Cider

Welcome to FolkTale Cider. Stories are the lifeblood of community, bringing us together and fostering connection.

Folktales, by definition, are stories that are passed down through oral tradition. Though often mistaken for Fairytales, Folktales reflect real-world settings and events and teach lessons through a more realistic approach.

At FolkTale Cider, we are simply fascinated by folklore, and how stories are as unique to each region as flavours and ingredients. That’s why we take our inspiration from the land to create ciders that are not only delicious but also tell a story.

We offer four of our ciders in 355ml cans, each with a custom label depicting a Folktale illustrated by the talented local artist Liz Ranney.

All fine ciders are manufactured on-site by our very own Cider Daddy, Blain Weber. Blain studied brewery operations with Olds College, distilling with the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, hospitality management with SAIT, and winemaking with the University of California. Suffice it to stay, he can make you something delicious to sip whether you hand him grain, potatoes, grapes or apples.

Blain has won awards for ciders he crafted during his time with Upside Cider, and has worked with multiple cideries in the valley including Wards, BC Tree Fruits Cider Co., and Truck 59 Cider House.

Having grown up on an Albertan farm, Blain can appreciate farmer’s struggles and priorities which is why we have based our model on sustainability and community ethos.
