Surrounded by mountains and lakes, fortunate for our sunshine and snow, and by experiencing the large diurnal range, we create unique wines that distinguish BC’s premier wine country.
At Grizzli Winery, we are inspired and driven to express the incredible diversity of our appellation, of our community. Continual growth and innovation is what keeps us going. This translates to the wines that are crafted by our winemaking team where each vintage will be better than the previous. The techniques we use bring out the finest aromas and flavours from each vintage’s crops.
The Okanagan Valley is Canada’s premier wine-growing region. It’s desert-like climate and unique terroir stand to compete alongside old-world wine regions. With an ever-changing panorama, the valley stretches over 250 kilometers, across sub-regions, each with distinct soil and climate conditions suited to growing a range of varietals from sun-ripened reds to lively fresh and often crisp whites that consistently rank among the world’s best at international competitions.
Grizzli Winery’s namesake has a historical association, as ‘Kelowna‘ is the First Nations name for grizzly bear.
Grizzli Winery was born out of a dream to see a community hub in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, a place welcoming to all. This is an aspiration that the proprietors, along with our Grizzli team are still inspired to accomplish daily.
Grizzli Winery was founded by the Chang family, who immigrated to Canada from Taiwan in the 1990s with the intention of starting a small winery with their passion in winemaking. Years later, this passion grew to wanting to share BC’s gem of wine making culture with the world.
