Telltale Winery
Welcome to Telltale Winery. Having taken the reigns from Glenterra Vineyards in 2022, we continue their legacy of sustainable dry farming without the use of any pesticides, herbicides or synthetically derived fertilizers. Since our goal is to transition to cyclical farming practices, we have also begun incorporating grazing animals into cover crop management and natural crop fertilization practices.
During the vine dormancy season, the vineyard floor is now managed by Icelandic sheep and Emden geese, which are not only beautiful to look at but also great for our farm’s overall soil health.
Our mission at Telltale Winery is to grow grapes in a sustainable and regenerative fashion while working in harmony with nature. Everything from pruning the vines in winter to harvesting the grapes in fall is done by hand, with careful attention to soil and plant health. Each plant is touched by us many times throughout the season so we get very familiar with each of our site’s distinctive characteristics.
Steering clear of extensive use of machinery and using no synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides requires diligence and intensive manual labor, but since “great wines are made in the vineyard, not the cellar”, we believe that it is worth the extra effort.
Telltale Winery used only grapes grown in our vineyard. The vines are hand-pruned and grapes are hand-picked. We are committed to farming sustainably, employing various methods to improve our farm’s soil health and soil biology. Our small size allows us to experiment with smaller batches and unique blends. Majority of our wines are unfined and unfiltered.
